Gas Pains: Current Gas Prices and the Economy

: Current and the Economy

How are Current Gas Prices affecting the economy and our lifestyles.  Actually the expensive fuel is really changing people’s lives.  People are working 4 days per week instead of 5 days, and just working longer hours per day.  For younger couples with families and a lot of kids, the extra cost of groceries is really hurting the wallet.  There are people that just don’t do what they use to do based on the prices.   Natual gas to heat a home is more expensive then ever, so some will be more conservative when it comes to that.   Some are selling their SUV’s or not buying them at all and buying cheap cars that get great gas mileage.  Some are buying hybrids.

You’ll find some individuals simply working 8-10 more hours every week just to pay for the gas.  Some will start 2nd business to try to make up for the costs.  Do some have to live with out some medical procedures due to the cost of gas?  Young people who make very little per hour can’t afford to go to their jobs.   Others will just ride a bicycle to and from places and work.   Small time truck drivers may go out of business.    Some ride motorcycles instead of cars.   Some get new jobs or move closer to work.  For some the economy and has hurt relationships due to the ever increasing pressure of lack of money.   Older retired people have had to put off retiring for longer or just aren’t able to drive and travel as much as they wanted to.   Co-workers will carpool to work with others.  Many choose to drive on cruise control at only 55 miles per hour instead of 70 mph.  People won’t take vacations as much as they usually will, or just postpone one.  Others won’t get to ride their fun boats, and all the gas guzzling toys.   Some are easing up on the gas pedal and trying not to push on the gas too hard or accelerate too fast.  Check out this Gas Crunch article on money.com

Home Financial Budget: Plan Ahead for HomeOwnership

:  Plan Ahead for

If u are thinking of buying a home soon there are things to consider, based on today’s economy, inflation and your budget how much will these things affect u on a daily basis.  If u are trying to cut back spending and tightening your budget for the next 2 years, and may only live at the house 3-4 years, will living next to shopping and mall be important?  Will the house need to be next to your career or job, based on , assuming they may still go up.  Will your habits change such as
less shopping at the malls and eating out far less, will living next to a grocery store be more important than living near a lot of restaurants.  Will u need to get a fixed interest rate and buy a cheaper home.  Many times property taxes go up every year.  Will your job keep giving u annual raises?  Sometimes insurance goes up on your property often.
You will need to save money monthly for home repairs because when repairs are needed it’s usually a $500 to $10,000 repair.  Faucets, toilets, screens, that stuff, often needs attention. Will you get your money back on your investment if u remodel, many times u don’t get a lot of your investment back.  One thing many people underestimate is if they push themselves into a little bit of a higher priced home the extra cost of more and nicer furniture can really cost you.  Also the extra sq ft cost you extra for heat and for forced air.  Plus when u paint or carpet, anything maintenance, it’s just that much more expensive.  takes a lot of planning, not just for this year, but for the next few years outlook. Will you have two incomes, will a spouse stay at home, will you have kids.  Is your job seasonal, will you be laid off for a few months, you really have to think ahead on this stuff.  Plan ahead before you make your purchase, get qualified with a officer.
