Baby Boomer Age: BoomerAngst

I am watching the show BoomerAngst right now on CNBC.  They are going to have Jim Cramer on there, they have Suze Orman on the show right now.   This show is about becoming 62 years old starting right now baby boomers are retiring and turning 62 and going on social security. The show is about if you ready to retire. They talk about how people will live to be 100.  People will live a little bit healthier than normal into their late years.  People will be living longer.  Jim Cramer is talking about investing in “sectors”  like “defense”, “food” “renewable energy” he wants you to invest and diversify into sectors that will last for a very long time to remain safe.  Their was a live audience some talked about retiring early, others said they don’t think they are yet on the path to retirement and the amount of money they need.

78 million baby boomers.  You can find the page about this show at boomerangst.cnbc.com

The show is about how the baby boomers aren’t saving enough for retirement.  How you can’t count on company pensions, or social security.   CNBC’s Bill Griffeth is the host of the show, he does a great job as host.  There is a panel of 4 from the financial field related to investing long term for retirement.

Some of the names you’ll see on the show are:

Michael Farr
President of Farr, Miller & Washington

Jane Bryant Quinn
Newsweek Columnist

Manisha Thakor
Financial Advisor

Bob Frick
Senior Editor at Kiplinger’s Personal Finance

Ric Edelman
Money Manager

Baby Boomers at 78 million is a big part of the US population, so we all have to pay attention to the trends whether we are one or not.   I am sure this episode will run again on CNBC.
