Men of Honor DVD-Determination and Inspiration

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

This is a great inspirational movie, that will motivate you. It’s about having the odds against you and never ever ever ever giving up.  It may take years to get to where you want to get.  It may take thousands of steps to where you need to get, but it’s not always about the final destination, it’s about the journey along the way and who life makes you during that journey.  This movie teaches you to forget all of those that don’t believe you can do it, and learn to believe in the one person that matters, yourself.  You are constantly competing against yourself in life, and you can choose to go backwards or forwards, just just with every years, but every months, every week, every hour, every second and finally every choice you make.  This movie teaches you that no matter how tough you have it, or how much you think the odds are against you, someone always has it tougher and much more difficult.  This movie teaches you to have determination, laser focus, and to have a future goal of what you some day want to become.  I’ve seen the movie a few times, and will continue to watch it.

This movie is about honor, respect, and never letting yourself or anyone else down. It’s about giving it 110% and giving it all you have.  No pain, no gain, it’s about truly pushing yourself to the limit to succeed. Only you can determine what true success means to you.  Some of your goals may take weeks, months or even years, but you will get rewarded with small accomplishments along the way.  Due yourself a favor and watch the movie and tell other friends and families about this movie.  I will post about future movies that are also inspirational like this movie.

Creating Your Future Dr. Dennis R. Deaton

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

I am finishing up listening to this 6 tape set. This tape set was recorded from a live seminar.  It’s copyrighted from 1996.  The one teaching and speaking is Dr. Dennis R. Deaton.  He is a big believer in concepts he trademarked and created, which are Visioneering, and Power Goaling which is like Mental Moving Making.  He has some very inspirational stories on this tape set.  Dennis is very well spoken and knows this niche well.  The company he owns is TimeMax, Inc. and QUMA Learning, Inc.  Some concepts you’ll learn about in this tape set would be the substance of thought.   Human behavior and personal mind management.  Developing concentration ability.  Implementing Literal Visualization.   Employing Daily Reinforcement, also conscious and subconscious ideas.  Sources of willpower and drive.  There is a lot of talk about the subconscious mind and how it works.

This course comes with a very short manual/book 20 pages long.  The website in the manual is quma.net, not sure if that website is still operational when you read this, at the time of this writing in January of 2009 it is.  Dr. Dennis R. Deaton has some participation with those in the audience and uses a paper eisel and whiteboard to work with their ideas, and does some good question and answer sessions.

He has a session near the last 2 cassette tapes where he asks for participation, ideas and feedback from the audience, which makes it easier to relate to.  He gives a lot of encouragement of others ideas that the provide throughout the seminar.  He let’s people come up with their mental movies. He wants you to imagine the destination, and the route to it will come from your subconscious.

Warren Buffet Way by Robert G. Hagstrom, Jr.

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

I am just finishing listening to The Warren Buffet Way done by Robert G. Hagstrom, Jr.  and read by Ronald C. Fraizier. He really seems to know Warren Buffet’s investment strategies, and beliefs very well.  I find the subject matter a bit dry, and technical, and I believe most people will, but if you really like the stock market, and how to evaluate companies market value and what to pay for these companies and whether to buy their stock I would highly recommend this 2 tape set.   The tape set talks a lot about Berkshire Hathaway and what companies are owned by Buffet and which ones are his favorites and why. How Buffet determines what companies are a good value and worth holding onto long term.  This tape set has a copyright of 1995 on it.   You have to have a lot of respect for Warren Buffet based on his networth and how successful he is year after year on picking the right investments.    He said Warren Buffet started with only $100 one day in the past and built it to billions. He has often found himself only behind Bill Gates on the Forbes 100 Richest people in America.

I bought this audio set used at half price books, which I highly recommend as the price was $3.98 compared to the $18.00 it sold for brand new.  This is a tape set you would have to listen to a few times to retain a lot of what is said.   Convertible preferred stock seems to be a popular investment type.  This tape set was done by Random House Audio Publishing, Inc. This tape set talks very positive about Coca-Cola and Gillete.  Geico is also talked about positively.  They talk a lot about return on investments, growth of stocks, equity value of stocks, and most of the tape talks about how to determine what is a good business and what it’s worth paying for or holding onto.

Unlimited Power Anthony Robbins

Monday, May 11th, 2009

I got done yesterday listening to the full 6 tape set of Anthony Robbins Unlimited Power. I really enjoyed it, I also have a 1 tape set I listened to the day before that.  I have listened to a lot of Tony Robbins stuff before and notice he has a lot of overlap from one tape to another, but that’s ok, he reinforces it in you. Tony is great at getting you to realize how to get yourself to do something, he really knows people, and how they think, they Psychology of people.  Tony is very good at tonality and getting you to follow how he says things.  One part that really got me interested this last time, even though I have listened to a lot of his stuff over and over is the anchor in which we remember things. We remember a feeling or something that happened when we hear a certain song, a noise, or something is said or even seeing a person or something.  And that we can even create or uncreate these anchor points is amazing in itself.  He spends a lot of time explaining the different personality types in many different categories.

You may also want to check out some of his other programs such as edge, and personal power 1 and 2.  Tony Robbins is very dynamic compared to other speakers, and the time really flies when you listen to him. Tony is a very intelligent guy, as you’ll understand from listening to his audio.   I have seen Tony Robbins in person at the Chicago Learning Annex and it’s very fun in person. You can see who else I have seen if you visit my library link at www.ronorr.com

I have another review coming up today or tomorrow on another big speaker and tape set on time management.

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind T. Harv Eker 3-CD

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

I am listening to Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker for the 2nd or 3rd time.  This is another great 3-CD set for anyone that wants to focus on a stronger business mindset as well as a financial future.  What he does a great job at is explaining to you very bluntly how rich people and poor people think very differently about many things in life.  The differences may have to do with how they treat their time or money.  Their views on life are quite different.  His style with how he explains it, he is very fast at talking and very blunt about how he explains it.   He is going to tell you very clearly you, and only you have to make it happen, you can’t wait for it to happen. He has become a multi-millionaire, so he has a lot to teach about his own journey.

He learned his way to success, and believes anyone else can.  He believes you should be come an expert at your field or niche.  This is a 3 CD set.   The subtitle is Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth, and it is written and read by T. Harv Eker.  The description on the casing said he went from zero to $1 million is 2 1/2 years.  He is president of Peak Potentials Training.  He has taught over 1/4 million people.   This 3-CD set is over 3 1/2 hours.   He talks a lot about money and success blueprint, he believes he can predict your future with 5 minutes spent with  you.   He believes a lot in what you learned as a child about your beliefs about money determine and shape how you see money today.  He wants you to believe that you have a millionaire mind, he will have you repeat it many times throughout the recording.
