Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

Go to Facebook.com and join this group now. The group is called Time is Money by Ron Orr

This group is for those who think their time has value and want to socialize with like-minded people that want to talk intelligently about personal development topics. (Smart Talk) The people in this group will be driven, self-motivated, and want to add value to the world, and help others achieve success. The people of this group will probably be of high energy, nice, and likable. Please feel free to join this group if you meet this criteria, and please invite all of the people that meet these standards.
“The best way to predict the future is to create it.”

The idea is that anyone can name a place, day, time, and a topic they want to meet others and talk about. The rule is that you have to provide the info of where, when, and time of where it is, and your phone# so someone can confirm if they need directions or want to verify you are there. This is not meant as a platform to do a big sales pitch. Talking about what you do and how you can help is fine, just not an obvious sales pitch. The idea is to inform, educate each other, bounce ideas off each other, and come up with solutions how to help the masses by adding value to the world. You are welcome to bring business cards and brochures so you can meet these people later.
The people in this group see themselves as leaders, or future leaders, trainers, and those who want to help educate others to lead a more well-balanced life, where we may all hold each other more accountable to higher standards and goals. The purpose of the group is that we all somewhat hold each other accountable for raising the bar of what we deem acceptable for our well-balanced life. It should be a very casual social setting to have some drinks, appetizers and talk to others. This group is for those that want to someday change the world in their own way and create waves.

Acceptable topics for now are:
Real Estate
Investing
Economy
Personal Development
Goals
Fitness
Business
Self-Employed
Tax Savings
Retirement
Baby Boomers
Housing Crisis
Politics only about economy/money
MLM as a business
Email Other Ideas to me

NO TOPICS that are NOT related to personal development, or self improvement or education for others, financially, spirituality or providing for a well-balanced life.
NON ACCEPTABLE topics are:
sports
TV
reality TV
music
hobbies
cars
past time type stuff
movies
internet
poker
smoking/drugs
celebrities

Our suggestion for now is to print out the RonOrr.com logo and print it out and put it at the end of your table for wherever you are meeting others, so they can find you at the bar, restaurant, coffee shop, etc.

For January we will probably just ramp up to get 100-300 people to join this group, once we meet 100 people we may start have small random meetings. The idea is that someone can name a place eventually on 1-2 hours notice, small gathering of even 3-5 people at a coffee shop for example.

Time Strategies of Very Successful People

Monday, May 18th, 2009

I am just finishing up listening to my cassette set of Time Strategies of Very Successful People by B. Eugene Griessman.  This cassette series is a little dated, I would say personal computers were fairly new at the time, no smart phones, or ipods, etc.  Regardless of the fact it’s a little dated, I am still getting a lot of great ideas on time management, time savings, time investments, and how not to waste time.  I cover a lot of these concepts at my blog on www.RonOrr.com.  What I like about this tape set is that is gives you hundreds of ideas how to save a few minutes here and there and make the right decisions. It talks a lot about time wasting activities, and then how to save that time the next time you do that activity. I do also like how most concepts relate to the average person.  I bought this tape set on ebay, but I would recommend you try ebay, or amazon to see if you can buy it.  You don’t want to just trade your hours for dollars, you want to make sure you are investing and leveraging your time correctly.

This is a 6 tape audio set, each side of each tape is about 40-45 minutes each.  Alot of the concepts in this series are focused on a business life, a strong emphasis on that.  It’s important for us to all realize we have 86,400 seconds per day, 24 hours per day.  The question comes up on how we use our time every day.   Here are some bullet points on the inside cover.  4 great ways to avoid time-wasting activities… and people.   Helpful techniques for planning ahead.   How to balance work, family, and social life.   The importance of making “appointments” with yourself.

A concept that this tape series isn’t able to get into that much is how technology will really leverage and widen the gap of how some people will maximize their time over others. This tape set starts to get into this, but much of today’s technology wasn’t invented yet.  There are still many people that don’t use technology, so technology is one concept that help you get very far ahead of others.  This tape set talks about making the most of down time.  This tape set does talk about keeping your time focused on a well-balanced life.  Another concept is prioritizing what it is you do, what’s most important and why.  This tape is about valuing your time.  This author has another Time Tactics of Very Successful People Eugene Griessman on ebay.

There will be a few other important factors such as being able to be listed in 411 directory, having a physical address, that’s NEVER EVER been used to apply for credit through PAYDEX or business credit before.  Also you should have a business phone, address, etc. This money is for business/investment use.  Call about more details to keep this streamlined.  The following is a list of the fees/points and cost to get this money. Money upfront is required to be able to qualify for buying the aged corp, but we have that part figured out also with the help of other investors who will need to be payed, please ask about the details.  We have made this program very easy, and want to help real business become successful with access to cash.

At this time it is not credit score based, and most everyone qualifies, and the money has no personal guarantee, and doesn’t show up on your personal credit report, this money just like any loan needs to be paid back. Of course the fees above will need to be taken out of the money before it’s wired to you.  Also keep in mind that those with 680+ credit scores can apply for business credit with much cheaper fees, and also you are allowed to put more money down upfront for this shelf corporation to pay even less fees. This is for the shelf corporation also known as an aged corporation. Contact: ron@minnesotainvestors.com

Richard Flint Exiting the Rat Race

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

I am listening this CD for about the 4th time. I do like this guy’s energy. He has been speaking for 25+ years I believe.  To me he is like a Tony Robbins, he gives you energy and really makes you think.  He is big on helping you make the most of your time and make the most of your life.  He hates to see people be exhausted, he wants to see people succeed.  He is big on being organized and not move so fast that nothing gets done.   He doesn’t like people racing through the day , day after day not doing the right things.  The wrong behaviors create a rat race. I have seen him in person two times, it’s well worth it.  He wants you to be able to manager your pace, not get frustrated or overwhelmed.   His audio is really good at making you think hard and shaking up the way you think about things, that’s important.  He has a lot of energy, the entire time he is talking.  He is a good story teller, funny and he is very well traveled.  He has another CD named Listening with your eyes wide open, I have heard that a few times, and will listen to it again next and may write about it later, so stay tuned.  This CD is again upbeat and can help if that’s what you are looking for.   Richard Flint doesn’t like excuses at all, which I agree with.   He is a big believer about how you spend your time.  His CD talks a lot about discipline, focus, and organization.  He says “behavior defines us”  He talks a lot about how people spend their entire life.   He talks about the exit door and how to not be trapped and get to the other side. This was a great CD, I highly recommend it.

Psychology of Winning Denis Waitley

Friday, May 15th, 2009

I just got done listening to this tape set. It was recorded quite a few years ago, but it’s very great for a positive attitude.  There are a lot of great ideas on positive things to think about and how to get negative thoughts out of your head.  This tape set covers a lot of ideas, and this is a very experienced speaker.  According the description:

In The Psychology of Winning, you’ll learn how to:

  • Make a habit of the Ten Steps to Winning taken by all Olympic champions, top sales stars, and top executives.
  • Focus your dominant thoughts on leading you inevitably to victories in all your challenges.
  • Create a new optimistic way of life.
  • Understand and control the fundamental key to all human behavior.
  • Boost your “winning average” with positive self-expectancy.
  • Develop optimal self-esteem in your employees, your children, and yourself.
  • Harmonize the Three Zones of Growth to keep yourself in the winner’s circle.

This is another one of those programs that really works on your mindset, it makes you more focused on getting things done and knowing you can do it.  I heard some great new ideas in this program.
